You ever come home and feel like you haven’t achieved a thing? Or do you just dislike your job? Or is there another reason? Whatever it is, don’t just live with your head down, live and look forward.
First of the bat, being stuck is normal. If you’re reading this, it means you are stuck and probably not for the first time. Spoilers, nor is it the last time.
Everybody that came to be on this planet, did not receive a user’s manual. Not a single person can tell you which way guarantees happiness. Many have tried and all have failed. Only those who can endure all the negative things in live will see the positive end.
The most important thing to do first, is to centre yourself. By this I mean, find solid ground. This can be anything in your life. It can be a person, a book, a place you visit regularly… Why you ask? To see the things you have rather than the things you want.
Whilst I’m writing this, the world is still in the grasp of Covid19. So for some amongst us (if not all), this means we are locked behind the doors of our house or appartement. So if your cantering is based around people, this could be a bit difficult. Or is it? Since all we do is watch Netflix all day and every day.
If you have the time to watch Netflix, why can’t you video chat with the people we love? It may seem awkward or silly at start, however, once you get used to it, it will be like any other conversation. Like the ones we have on Teams with a nice shirt on top and a baggy pants for pure comfort.
I have noticed that the introverts amongst us are having the time of their lives. no visits, no social obligations, no fuzz. And if you enjoy the peace and quiet, then good for you! Not all of us are meant to be in big crowds or big family dinners. So if you’re enjoying the whole “stay in your home” situation, don’t be embarrassed for the slightest bit.
For those who are more extravert and don’t want to stay in their house the whole time, there are still plenty of things you can do around the house or outside.
First thing you can do is pick up a hobby or learn a new skill. Have you been thinking about doing something for a long time? Do it, you have the time for it now. For me that’s photography. If you want to know a couple of reasons why you should start with photography, check this article: https://huts-axel.medium.com/5-reasons-to-pick-up-photography-70111be9a73d
The reason why I mentioned this, is simply to get you going. It may not seem like much, but learning something new or practicing an hobby will get you out of your current state of mind. It will overwrite those nasty feelings and set you on your way to the future. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and it withstood for ages. And that’s what you need right now, a solid foundation to build on. So get to it, life is an open road!
